(7910) Flooding
1 - Refers to inundation by water, whether this is caused by breaches, overtopping of banks or defences, inadequate or slow drainage of rainfall, underlying groundwater levels or blocked drains and sewers. 2 - A temporary condition caused by the accumulation of runoff from any source, which exceeds the capacity of a natural or man-made drainage system and results in inundation of normally dry land areas.
